Theme for The Sixfth Sunday after the Epiphany of Our Lord
To come into the presence of God one must be ritually clean. The cleansing of lepers was a Messianic sign. Jesus cleansed the leper in the Gospel so that he could worship God and serve his neighbor.
Hymn #394
Alleluia. Let him come now to me, that he may know that there is a prophet in Israel. Alleluia.
O Lord, graciously hear the prayers of Your people that we who justly suffer the consequence of our sin may be mercifully delivered by Your goodness to the glory of Your name; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
